14 minute journey time with trains at least every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sunday.
Stranraer via Ayr, Maybole, Girvan, and Barhill
Six or seven trains per day, half straight through, the other half change in Ayr

Kilmarnock. A fifteen minute journey with six or seven trains per day, Monday to Saturday, only.

Newcastle via Kilmarnock, Dumfries, Carlisle, a number of English border towns, and the Metro Centre. Two trains each way, Monday to Saturday, only.


Running from Glasgow Central to Troon, Monday to Saturday
06.00hrs and then every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour, until the last train at 23.30hrs.
Running via Paisley, Johnstone, Kilwinning, and Irvine, these trains arrive at Troon approximately 40 minutes later.
With the exception of the 08.00hrs, the trains leaving on the hour do not stop at Barassie, those leaving Glasgow on the half-hour do stop at Barassie.
An extra train runs at 17.13 hrs Monday to Friday, skipping the Johnstone stop but stopping at Glengarnock.
Also at 0828, 0903, and 2203, trains leave Glasgow Central to run via Kilmarnock, taking about 55 minutes to Troon.

Running from Glasgow to Troon, Sundays and Bank Holidays
Trains leave on the hour, every hour from 09.00 hrs until the last train leaves at 23.00. All stop at Barassie.

From Troon to Glasgow, Monday to Saturday
05.54 hrs, 06.25, 06.55, 07.30, 07.54, then at 25 and 54 minutes past every hour until 22.25 hrs. The last train to Glasgow leaves Troon at 23.12hrs.
From Monday to Friday, there are extra trains at 07.10 and 08.10 from Troon.
The 07.54 hrs from Troon does not stop at Barassie, nor do any of the subsequent trains leaving Troon at 54minutes past the hour. All others do stop at Barassie.
There are a few trains from Troon to Glasgow via Kilmarnock but it is generally quicker to wait for the next direct train. If you are in no hurry and fancy the sightseeing, the trains running via Kilmarnock leave Troon at 08.48 hrs, 13.21, 15.29 and 19.21.

From Troon to Glasgow on Sundays and Bank Holidays
The first train leaves Troon at 09.54 and they at 54 minutes past every hour until 21.54 and there is a last traing at 23.11hrs. All stop at Barassie 2 minutes after leaving Troon.

Running from Ayr to Troon, Monday to Saturday
The early trains leave Ayr at 05.42, 06.13, 06.43, 07.18, 07.43, then the regular service runs at 13 minutes and 43 minutes past every hour until 22.13hrs. There is a last train at 23.00 hrs.
Extra (Kilmarnock) trains leave at 07.15 hrs, 08.36, 11.22, 12.09, 13.09, 15.17, and 19.08.
From Monday to Friday, there's also the 06.58 and 07.58

From Ayr to Troon on Sundays and Bank Holidays
The first train leaves at 09.43 hrs and they continue at 43 minutes past every hour until 21.43 hrs. The last train leaves at 23.00hrs.

From Troon to Ayr, Monday to Saturday The morning trains are at 06.39 hrs, 07.11, 07.39, 08.11, 08.45, 09.24, 09.39, 10.07, then 11 minutes and 39 minutes past every hour until 11 minutes past midnight., with extras (from Kilmarnock) at 13.18 hrs, 16.20, 16.44, 18.24, 20.52 and 22.56
Some of the Glasgow trains are actually timetabled for 13 or 41 minutes past the hour at Troon ...... but if you are there for 11 or 39 minutes past the hour, you won't miss it !!!!

From Troon to Ayr on Sundays and Bank Holidays
The first train leaves Troon at 09.43 hrs and they run at 43 minutes past every hour until the last train at 23.43 hrs.

The Stranraer to Troon service.
From Monday to Saturday, the first train leaves Stranraer at 07.00. Then 10.00, 12.00, 14.30 (X), 19.00 (X), and 21.30 (X)
Note: (X) = Change at Ayr for Troon.
On Sunday, there are trains from Troon at 10.00, 14.30, and 19.00. None stop at Troon so you have to change at Ayr.

From Troon to Stranraer
The first train is 07.39 (X). Others are 09.24, 11.39 (X), 16.20, 19.13 (X), 20.52, 22.56.
Note: (X) = Change at Ayr. Over the bridge to the southbound platform. Not far and never less than 5 minutes to do it.
On Sunday, there are no direct connection from Troon to Stranraer. There are trains from Troon at 11.43 and 15.43 which connect at Ayr with trains for Stranraer.

The service from Kilmarnock to Troon runs Monday to Saturday, but not Sunday.
The first train leaves Kilmarnock at 09.10 hrs, with others at 09.55, 13.05, 16.08, 16.31, 18.11, 20.39, and lastly the 22.44.

The service from Troon to Kilmarnock also runs Monday to Saturday, but not Sunday.
The first train departs Troon at 07.23, followed by 08.48, 11.30, 13.21, 15.29, and the last at 19.21.

Trains from Newcastle and Carlisle direct to Troon run Monday to Saturday, but not Sunday.
There are two trains per day.
The first leaves Newcastle at 13.00 hrs, calling at the Metro Centre, various English border towns, Carlisle, Dumfries, Auchinleck, and Kilmarnock (16.08), reaching Troon at 16.20.
The second departs Newcastle at 17.30 hrs and follows the same route. Metro Centre, various English border towns, Carlisle, Dumfries, Auchinleck, and Kilmarnock (20.39), reaching Troon at 20.52.

Trains from Troon direct to Newcastle and Carlisle also run Monday to Saturday, but not Sunday
There are two trains per day.
The first leaves Troon at 07.23, via Kilmarnock (07.40)
The second leaves Troon at 11.30 am, via Kilmarnock (11.46)
